Thursday March 28th, 2024 marked the official christening of both the faculty and a hall named after Davido, underscoring his profound influence on the global music scene. The launch comes amidst Davido’s soaring musical achievements, with his fourth album, “Timeless,” released on March 31, 2023, securing a notable position on the United States Billboard 200 chart. Surpassing one billion streams across major platforms by August 3, “Timeless” propelled Davido to his first-ever Grammy nomination in three categories, further solidifying his stature as a luminary in the African music landscape. Building upon his acclaimed discography, which includes hits like “Omo Baba Olowo” (2012), “A Good Time” (2019), and “A Better Time” (2020), Davido’s legacy continues to reverberate, cementing his status as a trailblazer in the industry.
